The California Highway Patrol said the collision was reported shortly after 2:17 a.m. at the intersection of Union Avenue and Brundage Lane.

Fortuna, California (January 31, 2021) – Tiannah Ruvalcaba, 25, of Phillipsville, was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a fatal collision that happened near Fortuna in Humboldt County on Thursday morning.

The fatal accident was reported at around 1:15 a.m. January 28, on Fernbridge Drive.

Ruvalcaba was driving a 2006 Honda Civic northbound on Fernbridge Drive when, for unknown reasons, she drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a 1988 Ford Mustang.

The Mustang driver was killed in the crash.

Alsumairi and his passenger were not injured.

The primary investigation showed that the pedestrian was walking inside a crosswalk when a Toyota Corolla, driven by a 52-year-old man, struck him.

Authorities responded to the deadly motorcycle crash site at around 6:00 p.m., January 26, on Ashlan Avenue near Cedar Avenue.

The truck was reportedly trying to make a northbound turn into a shopping center when it hit Simpson while riding his motorcycle westbound on Ashlan Avenue.

Officials said the truck operator, who remained at the scene, was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Simpson died at Community Regional Medical Center while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, police closed Westbound Ashlan Avenue for two hours as they investigated and cleared the scene.
