Ricardo Simpson Fatal Fresno Motorcycle Collision on Ashlan Avenue near Cedar Avenue Tuesday Evening
Fresno, California (January 27, 2021) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the 34-year-old Fresno rider who was struck and killed by truck in central Fresno Tuesday evening as Ricardo Simpson.
Authorities responded to the deadly motorcycle crash site at around 6:00 p.m., January 26, on Ashlan Avenue near Cedar Avenue.
The truck was reportedly trying to make a northbound turn into a shopping center when it hit Simpson while riding his motorcycle westbound on Ashlan Avenue.
Officials said the truck operator, who remained at the scene, was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Simpson died at Community Regional Medical Center while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, police closed Westbound Ashlan Avenue for two hours as they investigated and cleared the scene.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
