Authorities Arrests Anthony Apodaca Following Stockton Suspected DUI Accident on Interstate 5
Stockton, California (January 29, 2021) – Two people were injured following a traffic collision involving an alleged DUI driver, 39-year-old Anthony P. Apodaca, in Stockton Thursday morning.
The accident, involving a California Highway Patrol officer, took place on Interstate 5, north of Highway 4, at approximately 7:00 a.m.
The mishap began when the CHP officer stopped on the right shoulder of northbound lanes of the Interstate to help a broken-down vehicle in the morning hours.
An Audi operated by Apodaca lost control and hit a Chevy before striking the CHP officer and a Ford.
The Ford operator and the CHP officer were hospitalized with minor injuries sustained in the mishap.
Meanwhile, police arrested Apodaca on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The accident remains under active investigation.
