Aurelio Martinez Injured in Fatal Car Accident on Highway 152 in Gilroy
Gilroy, California (January 26, 2021) – Aurelio Martinez, 64, of Gustine, was injured in a fatal head-on collision that happened on Saturday morning in Gilroy.
The collision occurred on Highway 152 near Lovers Lane at around 3:07 a.m. January 23, the California Highway Patrol said.
A 1990 Honda Accord, driven by a 57-year-old Gilroy man, was traveling eastbound on the highway when, for unknown reasons, it crossed over the yellow lines and collided head-on with a westbound 2008 Honda Accord.
The Gilroy man was killed in the crash. His name was not immediately disclosed.
Martinez was taken to an area hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
