Innocent Driver Killed in End-Of-Pursuit Crash in Pomona
Pomona, California (February 4, 2021) – An innocent driver died after a police chase ended in a traffic accident at an intersection in Pomona Wednesday evening.
The pursuit began at about 4:00 p.m. February 3, when the police officers attempted to pull over a vehicle for a code violation.
The suspect did not stop and sped off, and as a result, a pursuit ensued.
The chase went through the intersection of San Antonio Avenue and Philadelphia Street, where the suspect ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle that was not involved in the chase.
The driver of the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was later arrested.
The crash remains under investigation.
