Guadalupe Monreal and Saul Muniz Killed in DUI Car Accident at Union Avenue and Brundage Lane in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (February 2, 2020) – Guadalupe Aguilar Monreal, 46, and Saul Chavez Muniz, 52, have been identified by the Kern County coroner’s office as two people who were killed in a car accident at an intersection in Bakersfield on Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at about 2:17 a.m. February 31, in the area of Union Avenue and Brundage Lane.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision. However, the manner in which the accident happened was not immediately established.
Muniz and Mendoza were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Two other people were seriously injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
One of the drivers, who has since been identified as Jesus Moran Mendoza, 35, was determined to have been driving under the influence and was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
