Man Arrested Following Fatal Big Bear City Hit-And-Run Collision on Barton Lane near Holmes Lane

Big Bear City, California (February 2, 2020) – A suspected hit-and-run pedestrian accident that took place Sunday evening in Big Bear City left a 30-year-old Ontario woman dead.

The fatal crash occurred on Barton Lane east of Holmes Lane at around 6:01 p.m. January 31.

Three pedestrians were struck by a westbound 2004 Toyota Highlander while walking westbound along the highway.

The Toyota operator, from Big Bear City, did not stop to render aid and escaped the scene.

One of the pedestrians, the Ontario woman, died in the accident.

The other victims, a 29-year-old Long Beach man, and a 22-year-old Henderson man survived minor injuries.

The hit-and-run-suspect was later arrested later that night by police.

The crash is under investigation.
