Man Severely Injured in El Cajon Bicycle Accident on South First Street near Lexington Avenue
Bicyclist Injured in Crash on South First Street in El Cajon
El Cajon, California (February 4, 2021) – A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in El Cajon Wednesday night, authorities said.
At about 7:00 p.m. January 3, emergency personnel responded to South First Street near Lexington Avenue for a report of a bicyclist hit by a vehicle.
According to the authorities, a man was riding a bicycle in a bicycle lane on South First Street when, for undetermined reasons, he was struck by a sedan that was making a turn into a driveway.
The bicyclist sustained severe head trauma and a possible broken leg as a result of the accident. He was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
