Woman Killed in La Mesa Pedestrian Accident on Harbinson Avenue
La Mesa, California (January 1, 2021) – A 54-year-old female pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Thursday afternoon in La Mesa, authorities said.
The fatal pedestrian crash transpired at about 3:35 p.m., on December 31, in the 4700 block of Harbinson Avenue.
An eastbound 2016 Subaru SRX, driven by a 27-year-old woman, struck the 54-year-old female pedestrian in unclear circumstances, the officials said.
The 54-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
No one in the Subaru was injured.
Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
Harbinson Avenue was closed in both directions between Colony and Bonita roads due to the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact La Mesa police at 619-667-1400.
