Layla Lemas Fatal San Jose Pedestrian Accident on Monterey Highway December 31
Victim Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Monterey Highway in San Jose ID’d as Layla Lemas
San Jose, California (January 5, 2021) – 9-year-old Layla Marie Lemas, of San Jose, has been identified as the victim who died following a pedestrian accident in San Jose on December 31, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office reported.
The deadly pedestrian crash took place near Santee and McQuesten drives, behind Santee Elementary School, at approximately 11:15 a.m. Thursday
Lemas was hit by a 2017 GMC Sierra truck while riding an electric bike on a driveway of an apartment complex.
Sadly, Lemas died at the hospital while undergoing treatment.
The accident remains under active investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the SJPD traffic investigations unit at 408-277-4654
