Coroner ID’d Paytin Osmond as Kid Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Crash on Monterey Highway
San Jose Pedestrian Collision on Monterey Highway Left Paytin Osmond Dead
San Jose, California (January 5, 2021) – The 9-year-old Kaufman victim who died after being struck by a vehicle in San Jose, on the final days of 2020, has been identified as Paytin Mae Osmond, according to a report by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
Police responded to the fatal crash site at around 1:45 p.m. on Monterey Highway north of East Capitol Expressway.
A pickup truck diver was reportedly moving the truck off a vehicle trailer before striking Osmond who jumped onto its path in the dealer lot.
Osmond was rushed to an area hospital, where she later died.
No arrested have been made following the accident.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
