Woman on Wheelchair Killed in Pedestrian Accident at West Henderson and Fairfield Streets in Eureka
Eureka, California (December 3, 2020) – A 72-year-old woman in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Eureka on Tuesday afternoon.
At around 2:30 p.m. Eureka Police Department responded to the auto-pedestrian accident in the area of West Henderson and Fairfield Streets.
As per the police report, the woman was crossing West Henderson Street when a blue Chevy pickup struck her.
The woman suffered major injuries and was rushed to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver said she did not see the pedestrian crossing and was unable to avoid the crash. She remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
More information about the crash was not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
