Woman Killed in Sacramento Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 5 Freeway
Sacramento, California (December 26, 2020) – A 54-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday night in Sacramento.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened just before 11:25 p.m. December 23, on northbound Interstate 5 Freeway near Richards Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was initially hit by an unknown car and she fell between traffic lanes, where she was also struck by a Freightliner truck.
The Sacramento woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not immediately disclosed.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
