Major Injury Santa Cruz County Pedestrian Accident at Soquel Drive and Rodeo Gulch Road Saturday Evening
Pedestrian Struck and Critically Hurt by Vehicle at Soquel Drive and Rodeo Gulch Road in Santa Cruz County
Santa Cruz, California (December 22, 2020) – A 27-year-old man was hospitalized with critical injuries after being involved in a pedestrian accident Saturday evening in Santa Cruz.
The 5:40 p.m. major injury collision happened at Soquel Drive and Rodeo Gulch Road.
A 2003 Honda Accord travelling west on Soquel Drive hit the male party in the northeast corner of the Santa Cruz intersection under unclear circumstances.
The California Highway Patrol said the Accord also crashed with a metal guardrail upon the impact. The pedestrian was also thrown into a bush following the mishap.
Meanwhile, the victim was hospitalized at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with critical injuries sustained in the wreck.
Police did not believe the driver, who stopped after hitting the pedestrain, was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
