Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision at Fairfax and Monticello Avenues in Oakland
Oakland, California (December 4, 2020) – A man died in a multi-vehicle collision at an intersection in East Oakland on Thursday afternoon, December 3.
The fatal accident was reported at around 2:56 p.m. in the area of Fairfax and Monticello Avenues.
A man was driving a car near the intersection when he collided with another vehicle before crashing some parked cars.
The impact sent the vehicle off the roadway where it hit a power pole and overturned.
The driver was trapped inside his car and had to be extricated from the wreckage.
Emergency crews responded to the crash and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
