Esteban Zuniga Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 101 in Arroyo Grande
Arroyo Grande, California (December 9, 2020) – Esteban Zuniga, 29, of Grover Beach, has been identified as the man who was killed in a bicycle accident in Arroyo Grande, last week Thursday afternoon.
As per the California Highway Patrol report, the fatal crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. December 3, on Highway 101, just south of North Halcyon Road.
Zuniga was attempting to cross the highway when a southbound 2016 Honda Accord, driven by a 28-year-old Santa Maria man, hit him.
The impact of the crash ejected Zuniga from his bicycle.
Zuniga was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor in the crash.
Additional information about the collision was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
