Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Di Giorgio Road in Lamont
Lamont, California (December 14, 2020) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Lamont, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at about 12:40 a.m. December 13, on Di Giorgio Road, just east of Myrtle Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 43-year-old man was riding his white Huffy bicycle westbound on Di Giorgio Road when he was hit by a Volkswagen Passat that was also traveling westbound.
The rider was thrown off his bike upon the impact. He was declared dead at the scene.
The 19-year-old driver of the Passat was not injured.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
