Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Crash at Mission Road and Chestnut Avenue in South San Francisco
South San Francisco, California (December 17, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Monday afternoon accident traffic accident that left a bicyclist seriously injured in South San Francisco.
The bicycle accident transpired just before 3:30 p.m. on December 14, at the intersection of Mission Road and Chestnut Avenue.
According to the police, a silver pickup truck struck the bicyclist at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
The cyclist was reportedly riding the bicycle in a marked crosswalk when the accident happened.
Paramedics rushed the rider to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening major injuries.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
