Woman Hospitalized after Quincy Truck Accident on Highway 70
Quincy, California (December 17, 2020) – A woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Quincy, authorities said.
At about 7:09 a.m., on December 16, the California Highway Patrol responded to the major injury accident on Highway 70.
The CHP said a UPS truck towing a trailer was speeding westbound on the highway when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a silver Toyota RAV4, driven by a woman.
The crash impact reportedly pushed the RAV4 into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of a lumber truck, which was behind the UPS truck.
Unfortunately, the lumber truck crashed into the RAV4. The RAV4’s driver was trapped in her vehicle and was extricated by the first responders, the officials said.
The woman sustained major injuries and was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment.
The drivers of both trucks were not injured in the accident.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
