Travis Gottlob Killed in Goleta Pedestrian Crash on Cathedral Oaks Road
Goleta, California (November 18, 2020) – A pedestrian who was killed in a collision on Friday evening in Goleta has been identified by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office as 45-year-old Travis Gottlob, of Santa Barbara.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened on Cathedral Oaks Road between Los Carneros and Glen Annie roads on Friday, November 13.
A preliminary investigation showed that Gottlob was walking in the road when he was hit by a Mazda Miata.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the crash and pronounced Gottlob dead at the scene.
The Miata driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. No arrests were made.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
The authorities shut down Cathedral Oaks for several hours as they examined the scene.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
