Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road in Acton ID’d as Juan Miranda
Acton, California (November 17, 2020) – 19-year-old Juan Hernandez Miranda has been identified as the Newhall male party who died following a pedestrian accident that happened Sunday morning in Acton.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the fatal crash site at approximately 4:29 a.m. on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road.
The accident happened when a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck rolled over in the interstate’s fast lane for undetermined reasons. Miranda was then hit by another vehicle while standing at the crash site.
Sadly, Miranda died in the wreck.
Meanwhile, officials shut down all the southbound lanes of the interstate at Escondido Canyon Road temporarily as they investigated and cleared the scene.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to identify the cause of the November 15 accident.
