Gary Ortiz Killed in Motorcycle Crash on 9th Street and Lombardo Avenue in Modesto
Modesto, California (November 6, 2020) – Gary Ortiz, 51, of Ceres, has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic accident on Saturday evening in Modesto, the CHP said.
Just before 7:30 p.m., on October 31, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly motorcycle accident at 9th Street and Lombardo Avenue.
According to the officials, a 2007 Chevrolet cargo van, driven by Daniel Barron, 56, of Modesto, southbound on the roadway when it made a left turn into the path of a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Ortiz.
Unfortunately, Ortiz, who was reportedly headed northbound on Ninth Street, rear-ended it.
Ortiz was transported to Doctors Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Barron remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The crash remains under investigation.
