Celeste Turner Killed in Collision on Highway 46 near Beech Avenue in Wasco

Wasco, California (November 11, 2020) – The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified Celeste Christine Turner, 20, of Delano, as one of the two people who were killed in a two-vehicle collision on Monday morning in Wasco.

The crash was reported at about 4:38 a.m., on Highway 46, near Beech Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol said Turner was driving a Honda when, for unknown reasons, she collided head-on with a BMW driven by Alexi Jovani Murillo, 31, of Wasco.

Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Murillo was airlifted to Kern Medical Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The CHP did not mention whether alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash.

The highway was blocked for about three hours after the accident as the authorities examined the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
