Acton, California (November 15, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car crash that happened in Acton on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred at around 4:29 a.m. in the southbound Antelope Valley Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road.
The CHP said a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck overturned in the fast lane for unknown reasons.
The driver exited the pickup truck and was hit by a passing vehicle.
The driver was killed in the accident.
His name was not immediately disclosed.
The southbound lanes of the freeway at Escondido Canyon Road were temporarily closed and traffic was diverted to Red Rover Mine Road.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
