Palmdale Hit-and-Run Crash at 10th Street West and Avenue O-8 Kills 17-Year-Old Anthony Cruz

Palmdale, California (February 2, 2021) – Authorities have identified one of the two teenagers who died following a traffic collision Sunday morning in Palmdale as 17-year-old Anthony Cruz.

The alleged hit-and-run accident took place in the area of 10th Street West and Avenue O-8 at approximately 10:20 p.m. January 30.

The accident happened when a black Chrysler was escaping the scene of another accident suspectedly ran a red light at the Palmdale intersection before T-bonding a grey Honda Civic that was heading westbound on Avenue O-8.

Two Honda occupants, including Cruz and his 18-year-old cousin, died at the crash site.

Meanwhile, two other patients declined to be taken to the hospital.

Police are gathering more evidence to locate the black vehicle operator who fled the crash site on foot.

The accident remains under active investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact the Sheriff’s officials at 661-272-2400.
