56-Year-Old Woman Killed in Kings County Car Accident on Highway 198 near 2nd Avenue
Kings County, California (January 14, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle accident that killed a 56-year-old woman from Armona last week in Kings County.
The crash occurred on Highway 198 near 2nd Avenue at about 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5.
A 1998 Toyota, driven by Saul Ceja, 51, was headed westbound on the highway when a 2017 Hyundai, driven by Rayshon Espirito, 27, of Visalia, rear-ended it, the CHP said.
As a result of the crash impact, both vehicles drifted off the highway in a northwesterly direction. The Toyota flipped over several times, ejecting the 56-year-old female passenger, officials said.
The 56-year-old Armona woman was pronounced dead at the crash site.
Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the mishap.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
