Charles Porter Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Shores Beach in La Jolla
La Jolla, California (January 13, 2021) – Charles Dale Porter, 19, of Camp Pendleton, has been identified as the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash last week Thursday in La Jolla.
The accident was reported at around 1:16 p.m. January 7, in the 3295 block of Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Shores Beach.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Porter was riding a 2019 Honda sportbike northbound on Torrey Pines Road when he lost control of the motorcycle and slammed into a center divider wall.
Porter was ejected from the bike and landed on the street, where he was struck by an Acura SUV that was traveling southbound on Torrey Pines Road.
Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
