Male Party Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Yermo Road near Fort Irwin Road in San Bernardino County

San Bernardino County, California (December 24, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a pedestrian accident that left one person dead in San Bernardino County Monday night.

The CHP responded to the fatal crash site at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Yermo Road, just north of Fort Irwin Road.

A 2005 Toyota hit 58-year-old Barstow man while standing in the northbound lane of Yermo Road on December 21.

The driver, who didn’t possibly see the pedestrian in the highway, remained at the scene and cooperated with the law.

The unidentified victim died in the wreck.

Intoxication was not believed to have played role in the mishap.

An investigation the accident is underway. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Barstow area CHP at 760-255-5900.
