Jimmie Adkison Killed in DUI Car Accident at Lake Boulevard and Oasis Road in Redding
Redding, California (December 10, 2020) – Jimmie Junior Adkison II, 19, has been identified as the man who was killed in a suspected DUI car crash that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Redding.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at around 4 p.m. December 8, in the area of Lake Boulevard and Oasis Road.
24-year-old Robert Christopher Maughs, of Shasta Lake City, was driving a Toyota 4Runner when he failed to stop at a red light and collided head-on with a Buick sedan.
Adkison, who was a passenger in the Toyota, and Maughs, suffered major injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital.
Sadly, Adkison succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Maughs was arrested for driving under the influence and using a suspended license.
31-year-old Cassandra Petty, who was driving a Buick, was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
The Redding Police Department is investigating the accident.
