Gardena, California (December 15, 2020) – 59-year-old Jaetack Lee, of Norwalk, has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a big rig in a parking lot in Gardena on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at about 3:40 p.m. December 12, on South Avalon Boulevard.
The police said Lee was standing in the parking lot when he was struck by a tractor-trailer.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash and provided first aid measures to Lee.
Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
