Dane Adkins-Radford and Emily Hale Killed in Hemet Car Crash at Florida Avenue and Kirby Street

Hemet, California (December 14, 2020) – Two women who were killed when a suspected DUI driver crashed into their car in Hemet on Saturday morning have been identified as Dane Adkins-Radford and Emily Hale.

According to the Hemet Police Department, the deadly crash took place at about 4 a.m., December 12, at Florida Avenue and Kirby Street.

33-year-old Jesus Rios, of Downey, was reportedly driving a BMW 535i sedan eastbound on Florida Avenue when he failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into the rear of a Honda Fit hatchback that was stopped at a red light.

The 21-year-old Hemet women were riding in the Honda at the time of the crash.

Adkins-Radford was pronounced dead at the scene while Hale was rushed to Riverside University Health System Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

A third person in the Honda sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Rios, who tried to flee the scene on foot, was not injured in the crash. He was later arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of DUI, attempted hit-and-run, and two counts of vehicular homicide.

The incident remains under investigation.
