Arnie Espiritu Killed, Saul Solorzano Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on 91 Freeway in Bellflower
Bellflower, California (December 29, 2020) – Arnie Espiritu, 49, of San Pedro was killed in a two-vehicle collision that left Saul Solorzano, 34, of Azusa, injured on Sunday evening in Bellflower.
The accident happened at around 6:50 p.m. December 27, in the eastbound lanes of Artesia (91) Freeway at Bixby Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Espiritu was driving a Toyota Sienna on the roadway when she came to a stop for unknown reasons.
The Sienna was then rear-ended by a Toyota Solara driven by Solorzano.
The CHP said Espiritu was found dead while seated in her vehicle.
Solorzano complained of pain in his chest and right ankle.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The collision resulted in the temporary closure of three lanes of the freeway.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
