Madera Woman Killed in Bakersfield Car Crash on Highway 43 near McFarland
1 Killed, 2 Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 43 in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (December 22, 2020) – A 24-year-old Madera woman was killed and two other people were hospitalized after being injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened on Sunday afternoon in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened along Highway 43 just west of McFarland at around 5 p.m. December 20.
The Madera woman was driving a Nissan Versa eastbound on Peterson Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2007 Nissan Murano that was traveling north on Highway 43.
The driver of the Nissan Versa suffered major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Nissan Murano and a passenger, both 65-year-old from Wasco, were transported to Kern Medical with minor to moderate injuries.
Additional information about the crash was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
