Cyklali Alaniz Killed in Mecca Pedestrian Accident on 70th Avenue
Mecca, California (November 14, 2020) – The Riverside County coroner’s office has released the identity of the woman who was killed after being hit by a vehicle Thursday evening in Mecca.
Cyklali Alaniz, 19, of Mecca, died in the pedestrian accident that happened at about 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, in the 97700 block of 70th Avenue, just east of Cleveland Street.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle was heading westbound on 70th Avenue when, for undetermined reasons, it struck Alaniz.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and took Alaniz to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities said neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident.
The CHP asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call them at (760) 772-5300.
