Eliseo Ramirez Killed in Bicycle Accident on South Rice Avenue in Oxnard
Oxnard, California (February 3, 2021) – Eliseo Ramirez, 73, has been identified as the man who died in a bicycle accident in Oxnard on Tuesday morning.
The collision was reported at around 8:13 a.m. February 2, on South Rice Avenue, just south of East Fifth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Ramirez was riding his Schwinn bicycle along the right shoulder of Rice Avenue when he drifted into the left lane and was struck by a 1999 black Dodge Ram driven by a 49-year-old Oxnard woman.
Ramirez, a resident of Oxnard, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police closed one lane of South Rice Avenue for about an hour following the accident.
More information about the accident was not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
