Haolan Chen Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver at N. Park Victoria and Kennedy Drives in Milpitas

Milpitas, California (January 21, 2021) – The 7-year-old victim who died following a pedestrian accident in Milpitas has been identified as Haolan Chen.

The suspected hit-and-run collision, involving a stolen vehicle along Oakland Road in San Jose on January 2, took place at N. Park Victoria and Kennedy Drives.

Officials spotted the stolen car, a 2015 White Lexus R35, on E. Calaveras Boulevard, near N. Park Victoria Drive but its driver flew away.

The Lexus ran a stop sign before hitting Chen, who was riding a bicycle across the street at a marked crosswalk.

Chen was accompanied by his father and his sister prior to the collision.

Chen was attend to by medical personnel before being transported to an area hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The detectives are gathering more evidence to locate the Lexus driver who fled the crash site. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call (408) 586-2400.
