Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 in Chico
Chico, California (January 15, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Chico on Thursday night, the California Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash happened at around 7 p.m. on January 14, on Highway 99 near Mallard Estates Road.
A pedestrian was standing in the northbound lanes of the highway for unknown reasons when a vehicle struck him.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity remains undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Additional information about the accident was not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
