Oceanside, California (January 18, 2020) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident in Oceanside on Sunday morning.
At around 2:30 a.m. January 17, the Oceanside Police Department responded to the crash on the 3300 block of Oceanside Boulevard.
A 43-year-old woman suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol struck a female pedestrian who was walking east on Oceanside Boulevard.
Paramedics responded to the crash and found the victim lying in the westbound lanes with severe head injuries.
The woman died at the scene despite the efforts of the paramedics to save her life.
The driver remained at the scene and was arrested.
No other information about the accident was provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
