Frankie Bearden Killed in Truck Accident on Highway 99 in Merced
Merced, California (December 8, 2020) – 44-year-old Frankie Bearden has been identified as the woman who was killed in a truck accident early Saturday morning in Merced.
The fatal crash happened just before 3:00 a.m., December 5, on Highway 99 near Mission Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Bearden was driving a 2020 Jeep Cherokee northbound on the highway when she rear-ended a garbage truck.
The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to spin and come to a stop in the No.2 lane where an oncoming semi-truck sideswiped it.
The CHP said Bearden had gotten out of her car to check the damage to her car when she was struck.
Bearden was killed in the accident.
A 61-year-old woman who was riding in the Jeep was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with moderate injuries.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
