Fairfield Traffic Crash on Interstate Highway 80 Kills Jeanne Dea
Fairfield, California (December 29, 2020) –62-year-old Jeanne Dea has been identified as the Sacramento victim who died following a car accident late Friday night in Fairfield, the Solano County Coroner reported.
The fatal crash took place on Interstate Highway 80 at the Travis Boulevard onramp at about 11:30 p.m. December 25.
The accident happened when a black Honda Civic driven by a 20-year-old Fairfield man into eastbound I-80 from the onramp lost control before traveling across the eastbound lanes and crashed into the concrete center median.
The Civic then came to a rest in the fast lane where it was struck by a Lexus driven by a 33-year-old Irvine man eastbound along the highway.
Dea, who was riding as a passenger in the Lexus, died at Northbay Medical Center while undergoing treatment.
Two other occupants of the Lexus were also hospitalized at Northbay Medical Center with unspecified injures.
Both divers survive with minor injuries.
Officials said wet weather played a role in the mishap.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
