Woman Killed in Head-On Collision on North Lowell Street in Santa Ana
Santa Ana, California ( November 22, 2020) – A woman was killed and two people were injured in a suspected DUI crash involving a parked police SUV late Friday night in Santa Ana.
The collision happened at around 11:20 p.m. November 20, in the 1300 block of North Lowell Street.
The Santa Ana Police Department said Jesus Emmanuel Perez was driving a Honda eastbound when for unknown reasons, he collided head-on with a marked police SUV.
A female passenger in the SUV was seriously injured and was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Two officers complained of pain and were taken to the hospital.
Perez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and felony vehicular manslaughter.
Additional details about the accident were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
