1 Person Killed in Van Nuys Pedestrian Accident on Raymer Street
Van Nuys, California (November 4, 2020) – One person was hit and killed by an Amtrak train on Tuesday night in Van Nuys, police said.
The fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the 15039 block of West Raymer Street at about 9:06 p.m. on November 3.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian was walking in the area when, for unknown reasons, he ended up on the railroad tracks and was struck by Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train No. 796.
Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
