11-Year-Old Girl Killed, Motorcyclist Injured in Turlock Accident at Lander Avenue and Linwood Avenue
Turlock, California (November 10, 2020) – An 11-year-old girl was killed in a Sunday evening alleged hit-and-run accident that left a motorcyclist injured in Turlock, authorities said.
The fatal accident happened just before 5:20 p.m., on November 8, at Lander and Linwood Avenues.
According to the police, a motorcycle collided with a silver Ford SUV at the intersection.
Following the collision, the Ford’s driver fled the scene and ended up colliding with a red Honda Civic with five occupants, including the 11-year-old girl.
The girl was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Paramedics also transported the other parties to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Ford operator, Josue Leyva, 25, also fled the scene after the second accident. He later turned himself to the Turlock Police Department on Monday.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
