Carlos Del Pozo Killed in Two-Vehicle Collison on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa, California (January 31, 2021) – Carlos Del Pozo, 58, of Sebastopol, has been identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office as the man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday morning in Santa Rosa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at around 9:35 a.m., January 28, on Highway 101 near College Avenue.
Del Pozo was driving a Nissan Versa in the southbound lane. At the same time, a Chrysler 300 was traveling in the same direction.
The authorities said the two vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to spin out of control, crashed into a guardrail and rolled down an embankment.
Del Pozo was killed in the crash.
Jose Rodriguez, 31, of Santa Rosa, who was driving the Chrysler, stopped at the scene and cooperated with police. He was not injured in the accident.
More details about the accident were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
