Horse Rider Injured in Collision on Colony Road in Wilton

Wilton, California (December 28, 2020) – A man was hospitalized with severe injuries after a horse he was riding was hit by a car on Saturday evening in Wilton, Sacramento County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 6:05 p.m. in the 11000 block of Colony Road.

The CHP said a woman driving a Toyota Corolla southbound on Colony Road when she struck a horse on the road.

The male rider was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The Toyota driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the collision.

The accident remains under investigation.
