Girl Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Monterey Road in San Jose
San Jose, California (December 31, 2020) – A girl died after being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in San Jose.
The accident happened in the 3600 block of Monterey Road at about 1:45 p.m. December 30.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a driver was trying to unload a truck from a car carrier when the truck rolled forward and struck the girl who had jumped in front of the truck.
The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was taken to an area hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
