1 Person Killed, 1 Hurt in Cerritos Car Accident at Carmenita Road and Beach Street
Cerritos, California (November 24, 2020) – One person was killed in a traffic accident that left one other person injured on Friday night in Cerritos, authorities said.
The fatal two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Carmenita Road and Beach Street, just before 11:00 p.m., on November 20.
As per the police report, an SUV collided with a van at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
One person was trapped in the van and was extricated by the first responders, the officials said.
Sadly, the driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the mishap.
Traffic at the intersection was stopped for several hours due to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
